Turmeric

TUR-mer-ik or TOO-mer-ik, any way you slice it (or powder it), gets its brilliant orange color from curcumin, the active ingredient. It contains bioactive compounds that may have powerful medicinal benefits, helping in muscle recovery and joint health.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a very delicious spice, prized for its medicinal properties for thousands of years. It may contribute to lower blood sugars, reduced blood pressure, along with a plethora of other impressive health benefits.

Ginger

Ginger is a flowering plant that originated from China. It belongs to the Zingiberaceae family, and is closely related to turmeric, cardamon and galangal. Gingerol is the main bioactive compound in ginger, responsible for much of its medicinal properties. Ginger appears to be highly effective against nausea, can help reduce the day-to-day progression of muscle pain, and may reduce exercise-induced muscle soreness.

Coconut Water

Coconuts grow on large palm trees known scientifically as Cocos nucifera. Despite the name, the coconut is a fruit, not a nut. Coconut water is packed with so many good things, it's hard to know where to start. It has more than 10 times the amount of potassium of most sports drinks. That boost of potassium can help you ward off cramps. It is high in antioxidants, is a major source of arginine (an amino acid that helps your body respond to stress), it has calcium and magnesium, and is low-calorie to boot!

Sea Salt

Sea salt is harvested from naturally-evaporating seawater. Unlike table salt, which is chemically heated, sea salt is dried by the sun so no trace minerals are lost in the process. The health benefits of sea salt are directly related to the more than 60 trace minerals in it. Sea salt can contains many of the major electrolytes, like sodium, magnesium, calcium and potassium, that are absolutely essential to good health.

Cardamom

Cardamom is a spice with an intense, slightly sweet flavor that some compare to mint. While it originated in India it is available all over the world today, used in cooking both sweet and savory recipes. The seeds, oils and extracts of cardamom are thought to have impressive medicinal properties and have been used in traditional medicine for centuries.
